Cellulose forms the base structure of all plant forms, and can be generated independently as a biomaterial for many different applications for 3D construction.
Workshop participants will be introduced to the formula and process of growing their own cellulose from kombucha SCOBY, and discuss current and potential future uses of this durable material in art and design.
Participants should bring their own clean glass jars in order to take their experiments home with them. Experiments will be created for non-food uses only.
The workshop will be facilitated by WhiteFeather Hunter, Principal Investigator and Technician at the Speculative Life Lab.
