When Bodies Become Media at the SIAT Graduate Colloquium

On January 20, 2027, WhiteFeather Hunter will present “When Bodies Become Media: Feminist Bioart and Embodied Technologies” as part of the SIAT Graduate Colloquium’s invited postdoctoral panel at Simon Fraser University. The talk explores what happens when bodies and living materials become technological media. Drawing upon Hunter’s work with biotechnology, digital fabrication, live-cell imaging, 3D bioprinting, video, and immersive installation, it will introduce the critical questions and interdisciplinary methods driving her practice while reflecting on her unconventional path from craft and performance into biological art and postdoctoral research.
