Artist talk and Workshop at Biolab Lisboa, PT

WhiteFeather gave a talk and workshop on DIY 3D bioprinting, entitled Embodying the Bioprinter: Wet Worlding with DIY Biofabrication on May 29th, at BioLab Lisboa, Portugal. This travel was generously supported by Canada Council for the Arts.

Workshop brief:

In this hands-on workshop, bioartist and biosciences researcher Dr WhiteFeather Hunter leads participants through sensory, embodied biofabrication experiments with simple, accessible materials. You will learn the fundamentals of DIY bioink and gelation bath formulation and, through manual extrusion, kinaesthetically explore how flow and form shift with changing material variables. Here, the human body becomes the bioprinter, enacting speculative fabrication through touch, pressure, and play. The session culminates in a collaborative exercise of tissue-based storytelling, where printed forms become artefacts of imagined futures grounded in feminist technoscience, multispecies kinship, and radical regeneration.
