Contributors include: Dr Anju Sunny BAMS, Dr. Bernhard G. Förg MBA, Dr Herbert Limberger, Jatun Risba, Jiabao Li, María Angélica Contreras, Rüdiger Wassibauer,  Ryder Cooley, Thomas Grusch, Dr. WhiteFeather Hunter.

WhiteFeather’s chapter, entitled Blood Acumen, looks at ‘functional entanglements’ of blood in biomedicine and bioart, “to develop the concept that blood enacts responsive plasticities through transformative biochemical languages—even ‘intelligences’.” In the article, Hunter uses, “…several examples of… bioart projects that are centred on the core theme of blood, to discuss its relationship to and capacity for different forms of ‘intelligence.’… provid[ing] intersecting fragments of the whole (blood) picture, breaking down what, to some, might seem a homogenous material that varies only by Rh factor. From stem cells to microbes, human blood types (as in, venous and menstrual) contain a viscous milieu of actors that facilitate the formation of our thoughts and feelings, and essentially, senses of selves.”
